A Magical Beginning

I’m partial to an intimate studio maternity session, especially at the Studio at 100. There’s just something special about the soft light, the stillness, and the quiet anticipation that fills the air. It’s a space where time seems to slow down, allowing parents-to-be to truly take in the beauty of this season.

For Sonia and Alejandro, their studio session was exactly that; calm, joyful, and full of love.

From Disney Magic to a New Chapter

Eight years ago, Alejandro and Sonia met while working at Disney; the most magical place to start their story.

Life eventually brought them to Connecticut, where they’ve built a beautiful life together and celebrated three wonderful years of marriage. Then, last year, they received the news that changed everything, they were expecting a baby boy! Their hearts couldn’t have been more full.

A Session Filled with Light and Love

Their maternity shoot was such a special experience… It was a moment to pause and soak in the joy and anticipation of becoming parents.

The session was everything they hoped it would be: calm, happy, and deeply meaningful. With soft studio lighting and simple, elegant styling, every image reflected their quiet excitement and tender connection. Sonia and Alejandro wanted timeless, emotion-filled photos, and they got exactly that.

Sonia later shared that looking back at those photos now, with their baby boy in their arms, the images hold an even deeper meaning. They remind them of the love, the dreams, and the anticipation that filled those final weeks before meeting him, a time of hope, wonder, and pure joy.

Now That He’s Here

Their little boy has brought so much light into their lives. He’s curious, sweet, and already full of personality. The love that began years ago in Disney has now grown into a family, one built on laughter, tenderness, and endless adventure.

Studio maternity sessions are perfect if you’re looking for a timeless, elegant, and relaxed way to capture your pregnancy. They allow for complete control over lighting, wardrobe, and comfort… no weather worries, just pure focus on you and your connection.

A few tips to help make your session special:

Choosing the right outfit can make a huge difference in how your photos feel. I always recommend pieces that move beautifully, feel comfortable, and highlight your natural glow.

Form fitting pieces: we know that oversized and flowy clothing can be tempting during pregnancy, however, they don’t always translate well in photos. Clothes that hug your curves and highlight your silhouette ensure that your bump is the star of the show.
Soft, neutral tones: like creams, blush, sage, or dusty blue — keep the focus on you and your bump.
Coordinate, don’t match: if your partner or children are joining, choose complementary colors and textures.
Avoid bold logos or busy patterns that might distract from the emotion of the images.
