Senior photography details

Four high schools in one town means four different senior years happening at once. Whether you're at Ludlowe, Warde, Fairfield Prep, or Notre Dame, your session should feel like it belongs to you, not to a template.

We'll build it around places that already mean something. The sea grass at Penfield. Southport village on a quiet afternoon. Downtown when the light goes long.

No stiff posing. No standard backdrop. Just images you still like in ten years.

The Vibe & Philosophy

More Than Just
The Beach

Most people book Fairfield for the water, and the water earns it. An hour before sunset at Penfield, the light comes off the Sound with a softness you cannot fake.

But senior year deserves range. Ten minutes inland you have Southport, all brick sidewalks and white clapboard and boats in the harbor, which is about as editorial as Connecticut gets. Lake Mohegan gives you woods and water without the beach crowd. Downtown gives you storefronts, clean lines, and a little bit of grit.

That mix is what makes a Fairfield session work. We can shoot coastal, classic, and urban in one evening without ever getting on the highway.

Welcome! I've been photographing Connecticut families for over ten years, and senior sessions are the ones I look forward to most. You're old enough to have real opinions about how you want to look, which turns the whole thing into a collaboration instead of a job.

I've been voted Best Photographer in Central Connecticut four years running, and my work has been featured in People magazine and on Live with Kelly and Mark. None of that matters as much as you leaving the session feeling like yourself.

So bring the outfits you actually wear, your best friend, your dog, your lacrosse stick. We'll figure the rest out on the day.

Where We'll Shoot
In Fairfield

  • Penfield Beach: Sea grass, soft dunes, and the pavilion. An hour before sunset the light goes gold and slightly pink, and the wind does half the work for you. Best in September and October once the summer crowds clear out.
  • Southport Village: Brick sidewalks, white clapboard, black shutters, and boats in the harbor. This is the most editorial corner of Fairfield and the one I'd pick if you want photos that look like a magazine instead of a yearbook.
  • Lake Mohegan: Woods and water without the beach crowd. Trails, open clearings, and real fall color in October. Good if you want something quieter and more natural than the shoreline.
  • Fairfield Town Green and Old Post Road: Classic New England, the white church, stone walls, and old trees. Timeless and understated, and it never looks dated five years later.
  • Downtown Fairfield: Storefronts, clean lines, and a little brick and grit. Perfect if you want an urban look but don't want to drive into a city to get it.

When we plan your session, we'll pick spots that feel true to you. Here are my favorites in Fairfield for senior portraits:

Where are the best places for senior photos in Fairfield?
Fairfield gives you more range than people expect. Penfield Beach is the classic, especially an hour before sunset when the light comes off the Sound. Southport village is where I would go for anything editorial, with its brick sidewalks and boats in the harbor. Lake Mohegan is the quiet option, woods and water and real fall color. And if you want something urban, downtown Fairfield has storefronts and clean lines without a drive into the city.
Do you photograph seniors from Ludlowe, Warde, Fairfield Prep, and Notre Dame?
Yes, all four. Fairfield is unusual in having that many high schools in one town, and Prep and Notre Dame both pull students from well beyond Fairfield itself, so I am happy to work with you wherever you are commuting in from. Joint sessions with a friend from a different school are easy to arrange, and honestly they tend to be the most fun ones.
Do we need a beach sticker or parking pass?
Sometimes, and it depends on the beach and the season. During the summer season, Penfield and Jennings are open to non-residents with a daily parking fee or a season sticker, while Southport, Sasco, and South Pine Creek are residents only. Most senior sessions happen in the fall after the season winds down, so it usually is not an issue. If your family lives in town, bring your sticker and we are set. I check the current rules with Fairfield Parks and Recreation before we lock in a location.
When should Fairfield seniors book their session?
Most Connecticut seniors shoot the summer before senior year or in early fall, which lines up with when yearbook portraits are due. In Fairfield I would push for September or early October, after the beach crowds thin out but while the light is still warm. Those sunset slots book first, so reach out three to four months ahead if you have a specific date in mind.
Do you travel to Fairfield for senior sessions?
Yes. My studio is in North Haven, about 45 minutes from Fairfield, and I photograph throughout Fairfield County. A travel fee applies for locations this far from the studio and I include it clearly in your quote, so there are no surprises later. If you would rather do part of your session indoors, the studio at 100 Broadway in North Haven is always an option.
How long is a session and when do I get my photos?
Sessions run about 60 to 90 minutes, enough for two or three outfits and usually two locations. Because Fairfield's spots sit close together, we can often cover the beach and the village in a single evening. Your gallery arrives within two to three weeks, private and online, with high resolution downloads and full print rights.
What happens if it rains?
We reschedule, no charge. Coastal weather in Fairfield turns faster than inland, and wind matters as much as rain when we are near the water. I watch the forecast a few days out and reach out if it looks rough. Overcast is actually great for portraits, soft light and no squinting, so I will only move the date for real weather.
