I have photographed many senior sessions in Madison, including sessions for Daniel Hand High School seniors. The area offers a beautiful combination of shoreline, rocky coastal settings and open fields, making it possible to create a gallery with genuine variety.
Your session will be planned around the settings and style that feel most like you. Whether that means the beach, a natural park or a combination of both, I will help with location planning, wardrobe choices and natural direction throughout the experience.

The Vibe & Philosophy
Shoreline Light and Natural Variety
Madison is one of the Connecticut shoreline areas I photograph most. Hammonasset offers sand, dunes, boardwalk areas and open coastal light. Meigs Point creates a different look with rocks and open water, while Bauer Park offers fields, stone details and a warmer inland setting.
This variety allows us to choose a location that fits the senior rather than forcing every session into the same style. September and October are especially popular because the shoreline is often quieter and the evening light is beautiful.
Welcome! Ten years in, senior sessions are the part of this job I look forward to most. You're old enough to have real opinions about how you want to look, which turns the whole thing into a collaboration instead of a shoot.

Senior Portrait Locations in Madison
- Hammonasset Beach State Park: Two miles of sand, dunes, boardwalk, and salt marsh. The most requested senior spot on the shoreline, and for good reason. An hour before sunset in September or October is unbeatable, and the crowds are long gone by then.
- Meigs Point: The rocky eastern end of Hammonasset, all boulders and open water. Fifteen minutes' walk from the sand and a completely different mood. My pick if you want something moodier and more dramatic than a beach photo.
- Bauer Park: Open fields, stone walls, and farm buildings five minutes inland. Warm and golden rather than windy and blue. Great as the second half of a session when you want variety without a drive.
- Rockland Preserve: Woods, trails, and real October color. The quiet option, and the one nobody thinks of. Good if beach photos are not your thing at all.
- Madison Town Green and Boston Post Road: White clapboard, old trees, and the village stretch past R.J. Julia. Classic New England and easy to combine with anything else on this list.
Final location choices are based on the season, current access, weather conditions and the style of the selected session.
