Senior photography details

Three high schools in one town, and I've photographed seniors from here more than almost anywhere else in Connecticut. Whether you're a Sheehan Titan, a Lyman Hall Trojan, or finishing up at Choate, your session should feel like it belongs to you, not to a template.

We'll build it around places that already mean something. The rows at Gouveia at golden hour. The pines at Wharton Brook. Downtown when the brick catches the light.

No stiff posing. No standard backdrop. Just images you still like in ten years.

The Vibe & Philosophy

Where So Many Of My
Senior Sessions Happen

Wallingford is ten minutes from my studio, and it has quietly become the town I shoot seniors in most. Part of that is the schools. Most of it is Gouveia.

The vineyard sits on a hilltop with rows running downhill and the whole valley opening up behind you. An hour before sunset the light comes across those rows sideways and does something you cannot recreate anywhere else in the state. I've shot enough senior sessions up there to know exactly where to stand and when.

But Wallingford is more than the vineyard. Wharton Brook has tall pines and still water. Tyler Mill has real trails and October color. Downtown has brick and clean lines if you want an edge. We can cover three completely different looks and never drive more than ten minutes.

Welcome! Ten years in, senior sessions are the part of this job I look forward to most. You're old enough to have real opinions about how you want to look, which turns the whole thing into a collaboration instead of a shoot.

I've been voted Best Photographer in Central Connecticut four years running, and my work has been featured in People magazine and on Live with Kelly and Mark. What matters more to me is that you leave feeling like yourself.

Wallingford is ten minutes from my studio at 100 Broadway in North Haven, so scheduling is easy and there's no travel fee. Bring the outfits you actually wear and whoever makes you laugh.

Where Wallingford
Seniors Shoot

  • Gouveia Vineyards: The one everyone asks for, and it earns it. Hilltop views, long rows of vines, and light an hour before sunset that makes everything look like a film still. I've shot a lot of senior sessions here and I know exactly where to be as the sun drops.
  • Choate Rosemary Hall Campus: Historic brick, iron, and manicured grounds. If you want the polished, academic, editorial look, nothing else in Wallingford comes close. Especially meaningful if you're a Choate senior finishing up here.
  • Wharton Brook State Park: Tall pines, still water, and dappled light. Quieter and more natural than the vineyard, and it gives you a completely different mood in the same evening.
  • Tyler Mill Preserve: Real trails, open fields, and genuine October color. My pick if you want something rugged and outdoorsy rather than polished. Wear shoes you can actually walk in.
  • Downtown Wallingford: Brick storefronts, clean lines, and a little grit. The urban option, and it's five minutes from everything else on this list.

When we plan your session, we'll pick spots that feel true to you. These are the Wallingford locations I come back to for seniors:

Where are the best places for senior photos in Wallingford?
Gouveia Vineyards is the one most seniors ask for, and it deserves the reputation. Hilltop rows, valley views, and unreal light an hour before sunset. Choate's campus is the pick if you want something polished and academic. Wharton Brook has tall pines and still water for a quieter mood. Tyler Mill has real trails and the best October color in town. And downtown gives you brick and clean lines if you want an edge.
Do you photograph seniors from Sheehan, Lyman Hall, and Choate?
All three. I have photographed Sheehan seniors and seniors from around town at Gouveia, and Choate seniors are welcome too. Since Choate draws students from all over the country and abroad, I am used to working around visiting families and short windows. Tell me when you are around and I will build the session to fit.
Can we do a session at Gouveia Vineyards?
Yes, and it is one of my favorite places in Connecticut to shoot. I know the property well, including where the light lands as the sun drops behind the hill and which rows photograph best in each season. Gouveia is a working winery, so sessions there get arranged in advance rather than booked on a whim. Just tell me you want it and I will handle the coordination.
Do you charge a travel fee for Wallingford?
No. Wallingford is about ten minutes from my studio in North Haven, comfortably inside my no travel fee area. It also means rescheduling is easy if the weather turns, and I can often fit you in the same week.
When should Wallingford seniors book their session?
Most Connecticut seniors shoot the summer before senior year or in early fall, lining up with yearbook deadlines. For Gouveia specifically, September and October sunset slots go first and they go fast, because the vineyard looks its best right as the leaves turn. If you want a specific date, reach out three to four months ahead.
How long is a session and when do I get my photos?
Sessions run about 60 to 90 minutes, enough for two or three outfits and usually two locations. Wallingford's spots sit close enough together that we can do the vineyard and somewhere completely different in one evening. Your gallery arrives within two to three weeks, private and online, with high resolution downloads and full print rights.
What happens if it rains?
We reschedule, no charge. Being ten minutes away means moving a date is genuinely simple and I can usually re-slot you quickly. Overcast is great for portraits anyway, soft light and no squinting, so I only move things for real rain. If we are up against a deadline, the North Haven studio is right there.
