I can’t wait to hear from you! I’m here to create timeless, high-quality photos that capture your story
Senior year marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. After years of classes, activities, friendships, and growth, this season deserves to be remembered in a way that feels meaningful.
A senior portrait session is more than a picture for the yearbook or a graduation announcement. It is an opportunity to capture who your senior is right now, including their personality, confidence, interests, and excitement for what comes next.
At Nicole Mele Photography, the experience is designed to feel personal, relaxed, and fun. Every session includes guidance with planning, location choices, wardrobe, posing, movement, and expression. Your senior will never be left wondering what to do in front of the camera.
The goal is to create images that feel natural, elevated, timeless, and completely true to them.
No two seniors are the same, and their portraits should not be either.
Some seniors arrive excited and ready for the camera. Others feel nervous, unsure, or convinced that they are not photogenic. Both are completely normal.
Nicole guides each senior through natural posing and movement while creating space for real expressions and personality. The session includes the classic portraits parents and grandparents will love, along with relaxed moments that feel more spontaneous and personal.
There is no pressure to perform or arrive knowing how to pose. The experience is thoughtfully guided from beginning to end.
Every senior session begins with the person, not the location or the outfit.
Think about what your senior enjoys, how they normally dress, and what environments make them feel comfortable. A favorite jacket, pair of sneakers, musical instrument, athletic uniform, car, pet, or meaningful location can help tell their story.
These details are never required, but they can make the final gallery feel even more personal. If your senior would like to include a pet, friend, activity, or special item, mention it during planning so the session can be organized around it.
Outdoor senior sessions offer room to move and explore. Fields, shoreline settings, parks, and architectural areas each create a different feeling. The location is chosen based on your senior’s personality, the season, the light, and the overall look they want.
For seniors who prefer a clean, polished, editorial style, The Studio at 100 in North Haven offers a private indoor option with simple backdrops and soft light. The studio is also a helpful choice during colder months or when weather is unpredictable.
Longer senior experiences may allow time for more than one setting, which can create additional variety when the locations and timing work well together.
Not sure which setting makes sense? That is part of the planning process. Nicole will help guide you toward an option that fits your senior rather than asking you to figure everything out alone.

The best wardrobe is one that feels like your senior.
Clothing should fit comfortably, allow natural movement, and help them feel confident. A mix of one polished look and one more relaxed look creates variety while keeping the gallery cohesive.
Rather than following strict color rules, think about fit, texture, movement, and the chosen location. A flowing dress may feel beautiful at the shoreline. Jeans, a favorite top, and sneakers may feel more natural in an urban setting. A blazer or structured outfit can work especially well in the studio or against architectural backgrounds.
Most importantly, your senior should still recognize themselves in the images. For a detailed breakdown of session pacing and outfit timing, see how many outfits to bring to your senior photo session.
Many outdoor sessions take place during golden hour, when the light before sunset is soft and warm. However, golden hour is not the only beautiful option.
Morning sessions can provide clean light, cooler temperatures, and quieter locations. Depending on the setting and the look your senior wants, Nicole may recommend morning, afternoon, or evening.
If rain, wind, or other conditions could affect the experience, Nicole will discuss the best option with you. Sometimes changing the time of day allows the session to remain on the same date. When rescheduling is necessary, the goal is to find the earliest available option that will still create beautiful results.
Nicole Mele Photography offers several senior portrait options, from a short and simple session to extended experiences with additional outfits and locations. A Bestie Experience is also available for two seniors who want individual portraits and images together.
The right option depends on how much variety your senior wants, how many outfits they hope to include, and whether they prefer one setting or a more extended experience.
Current rates and complete session details are provided directly through the Senior Experience Guide. This keeps the information you receive current and allows Nicole to recommend the option that best fits your senior.
Your final photographs are delivered through a private online gallery with high resolution downloads for printing and sharing. Galleries are typically delivered within 7 to 10 days, often sooner.
These images can be used for graduation announcements, gifts, social media, prints, albums, and wall art. More importantly, they preserve a version of your senior that your family will always want to remember.
Not at all. Nicole provides direction throughout the session, including what to do with hands, where to look, how to move, and how to create natural expressions.
Yes. Pets, instruments, athletic gear, favorite clothing, and other meaningful details can make the session more personal. Discuss them with Nicole in advance so the timing and location can be planned appropriately.
Nicole will help you choose based on your senior’s personality, preferred style, season, and the type of light that will work best.
